Inspira centre in Barrow

Leading careers advice and guidance organisation, Inspira, has launched a series of practical support videos and online help for young people receiving their A level results on Thursday the 13th of August.

On the day, the Inspira centres in Barrow, Carlisle and Workington will be open from 10am until 3pm for any young person who is worried about their results, and online from 10am to 8pm.

“We will have drop-in appointments available, as well as the opportunity for young people and parents to book online appointments,” said Sarah Harrington, Director at Inspira. “From 2-3pm our professional advisers will also be Live on Facebook @inspiraforlife too.”

To cope with demand, Inspira is offering online appointments from 10am until 8pm on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th, as well as Saturday the 16th from 10am – 1pm.

As a result of COVID19 disrupting education and exams, this year, teachers have submitted grades for each of their students based on what they believe the student would have achieved, using a range of evidence such as classwork, homework and mock exam results.

“We know it is a worrying time for a lot of young people,” continued Sarah Harrington. “So, we aim to give helpful tips and practical advice to parents as well as explain to young people the options available to them.”

Craig Ivison, Head of Skills at Cumbria LEP said, “Cumbria LEP would like to congratulate young people across Cumbria on their A-Level results today. The last few months have been challenging and our students have risen with this challenge to secure results that will lead them to the next steps in their future careers.  The high quality, responsive skills system across Cumbria is ready to support our young people in the next step in their learning and career journey, whether that be Higher Education, Further Education, Apprenticeships or employment.  We would also like to thank head teachers and teachers in schools across Cumbria whose professionalism and dedication has enabled young people to secure the results we have seen today.”

To book an online appointment visit Inspira’s website or get in touch with them on social media @Inspiraforlife or 0345 658 8647. The videos and advice can all be found on their website www.inspira.org.uk.
