The outdoor and mountain footwear brand will sponsor the festival’s Hiking Series for 2021
Hanwag has announced a new partnership with the prestigious Keswick Mountain Festival for 2021, a year which will also mark the Bavarian bootmaker’s centenary year. At next year’s event, the footwear brand will sponsor the festival’s expanding programme of hikes, including the Hanwag Three Peaks Challenge which sold out in 2019, making it one of the weekend’s most popular events.
Founded in 2007, Keswick Mountain Festival is one of the UK’s best-loved outdoor festivals, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year to the iconic fells and lakes of Cumbria. Following the exceptional success of the Hanwag Three Peaks Challenge in previous years, Keswick Mountain Festival and Hanwag have agreed to increase capacity and run this event on each day of the 2021 festival. Setting off between 7:30am and 9:00am, participants will be challenged to finish this challenging 18-mile hike which takes in three classic fells (Catbells, Walla Crag and Latrigg) within eight hours. To ensure there is an event to suit all ages and abilities, the Hanwag Hiking Series will also include the Coledale Challenge, which is aimed at more experienced hikers, and the family friendly Hanwag Walla Crag Family Challenge.
