Staff at Newlands care centre celebrate 140-years of long service

Newlands Care Centre Long Service Awards

A number of staff at Newlands Care Centre in Workington have received prestigious Long Service Awards in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for 140 years between them.

Those recognised were Carers, Kirsty Johnston celebrating 10 years of service, Shaun Campbell celebrating 15 years, Christine Thompson celebrating 25 years, Care Practitioner Sara Robinson celebrating 20 years, Home Administrator Lorraine Glynn celebrating 20 years, Head Housekeeper Gill Forster celebrating 25 years and Housekeeper Margaret Cowan celebrating her 25 Years of Service.

Together, staff have worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years. We are very grateful for their dedication and commitment throughout the years.

Jane McFarlane, Employee Services Director at Barchester said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted that staff at Newlands Care Centre have achieved these milestones. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

Kim Whelan, General Manager of Newlands Care Centre said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating staffs’ years of loyal service with Newlands Care Centre. They have demonstrated their dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Newlands Care Centre when I say that I’m thankful for all they have done!”

Newlands Care Centre is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Newlands Care Centre provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 50 residents from respite care to long term stays.
