Racially-aggravated abuse shouted at Workington door staff

Police are appealing for witnesses after racially-aggravated abuse was shouted at a member of door staff at The Junction Pub on Jane Street in Workington.

The incident occurred at about 10.15pm on Saturday August 29.

Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed this hate incident to come forward to help with inquiries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “There is no place for hate on the streets of Cumbria and these types of incidents are dealt with vigorously and appropriately.”

Anyone with information can contact PC 2899 Carter on 101, referring to incident 251 of August 29.
