Linda and Susie (Hospice at Home Lymphoedema Team) with Richard Percival from Carigiet Cowen draw the Sunflower Surprises Raffle

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland’s Sunflower Surprises Raffle was greatly supported this summer by our local community and from Supporters from further afield. This tremendous generosity from raffle ticket sales and from general donations to this appeal has raised a phenomenal £26,500 for the Charity.

Cath Coates, Fundraiser for Hospice at Home, said “The support we have received for The Sunflower Surprises Raffle surpassed all of our expectations. We would like to sincerely thank Carigiet Cowen for sponsoring this event and also to The Crown Hotel Wetheral, Ullswater Steamers, The Fat Lamb, Lowther Castle and Gardens, Abbott Lodge Jersey Ice-Cream Farm, Carlisle Racecourse, The Halston and other local businesses for kindly donating the wonderful prizes, as well as the generous members of the community who purchased tickets and made a donation to the event. The sum raised will enable us to continue providing a vital service in the North and East of Cumbria, and will help many patients during this difficult time.”

The Sunflower Surprises Raffle has now been drawn and all of the lucky winners have been notified. Cath added “We hope each winner greatly enjoys their prize with friends and family.”

Hospice at Home’s next draw, The Festive Raffle, has now been launched with the Autumn/Winter issue of the Charity’s ‘Contact’ Magazine. To purchase tickets please visit www.hospiceathome.co.uk to be in with a chance of winning a fantastic array of prizes including £100 Cash donated by The Cumberland Building Society, Genevieve £100 Voucher, Cranston’s Butcher and Maker £50 Voucher, McVitie’s Luxury Biscuit Hamper, John Norris of Penrith Dog Hamper and toys, Bottle of Champagne and £50 Voucher for Carrick Meats Quality Butchers, Dalston both donated by Jill Glencross Independent Funeral Director, £50 High Street Voucher donated by Dodd & Co Chartered Accountants and an Artisan Cheese Hamper donated by Appleby Creamery.

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland needs to raise 80 per cent of its annual running costs which equates to approximately £20,000 each week and this couldn’t be achieved without the kindness of the local community, businesses and organisations  For more information please visit www.hospiceathome.co.uk or telephone 01768 210719.
