Coniston Mountain Rescue Team is pleased to have been donated a full set of General Grabber Tyres for one of its Land Rover Ambulances. The donation is being made by Roadrunner Tyres of Cabus near Preston.
Roadrunner Tyres had contacted the Lake District Search & Mountain Rescue Association (LDSAMRA) to donate a set of tyres their supplier General Grabber had offered them to give away.
LDSAMRA comprises the 12 Teams that cover the Lake District and they felt that the fairest way was to hold a prize draw with the name of teams going into a hat, and Coniston MRT was picked as the winner!
Coniston MRT Team Leader Rob Ingham said: “This is a really welcome donation, Coniston Team uses a lot of the mountain tracks to access incidents and this often means vehicles and tyres are being pushed to their limits. The Team is a charity and relies solely upon donations for support and this year income is down largely because of COVID-19. This represents a significant donation that should last for several years and we’re really grateful to Roadrunner Tyres and General Grabber for their Support.”
Jade Benson of Roadrunner Tyres commented: “We are really pleased to have been able to make this donation to Coniston MRT with the backing of General Grabber. We feel that the team will be able to use the General Grabber X3 to its full potential as it has been specifically designed for extreme off road use – we wish the team many happy and safe miles in the years to come.”
