Staff at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, are continuing to provide support to the local community in true MINI style.
The vehicle, a MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid, has been provided by Lloyd MINI and will be used by staff across the hospice to provide care and support to families with life limiting illnesses.
Most recently, the new MINI was taken on an outing to visit local gentleman, Charles Hanson, who is walking 86 miles in 86 days before his 86th birthday in December in order to raise funds for Eden Valley Hospice.
Andrew Maddison, Marketing Manager at Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Lloyd Carlisle MINI for their continued support of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. The generous donation of a MINI Countryman will make a huge difference at the hospice during these challenging times. Whether supporting our patients in the local community or helping to raise vital funds, this wonderful donation will make a huge difference over the coming weeks and months”.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact across the country, with no area left untouched. As a specialist healthcare provider, Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw have treated local people with the virus, ensuring every family received end of life care filled with compassion and dignity.
At a time when fundraising activities have stopped and their charity shops are beginning to re-open, the hospice is in the unfortunate situation whereby the need for specialist, compassionate care is increasing but charitable income has taken a drastic downturn.
At a time when the hospice is still in great need of funding to secure the future of the hospice, the support of the local community will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw’s vital care today, tomorrow and for many years to come.
