People are invited to show their support for felines as Cats Protection prepares to open its new shop in Carlisle just in time for Christmas.
Staff are busy putting the finishing touches to the shop at 46-48 Castle Street, ahead of its grand opening on Thursday.
Customers can be reassured the shop will be operating under COVID-safe protocols, including all donations quarantined before going on sale.
This will be a large superstore selling a range of good quality second-hand clothes, books, household goods and bric-a-brac, as well as small pieces of furniture.
There will also be a range of cat-themed gifts, including stocking fillers for both humans and cats.
Before opening day, staff will be on site ready to take donations, and also to chat to anyone interested in volunteering at the shop.
“Volunteering at a charity shop can be an extremely rewarding experience,” said area retail manager Jane Dutton.
“Not only can you develop new skills and make new friends, there is also the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping cats in need.”
Cats Protection has a branch in Carlisle, where a dedicated team of volunteers help to find new homes for stray and abandoned cats.
The branch is keen to recruit more fosterers to help look after cats until they can find their forever homes.
Anyone interested in volunteering can contact [email protected] , call 0784 396 277 or pop in during opening hours.
