More than 400 food hampers have been distributed to people in need across the Workington area over the last three days.
Members of Workington Rotary prepared 440 bags and several gift vouchers at Moorclose Community Centre to be given out in time for Christmas.
Alan Barry, club president, said: “I would like to thank Hughie Stamper, Tony Wareing and the team for a job well done. It looked a logistical nightmare, but Hughie as normal made it all look so easy.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to all of the partner groups involved in this enterprise.”
Also involved were Cumbria County Council, Workington Town RLFC, Rotary clubs of Cockermouth and Workington Derwent, Workington Inner Wheel Club, Workington Town Council, South Workington Youth Partnership and Workington Community Emergency Group.
Mr Barry added: “A special thank you is also extended to the many family and friends who have supported us along the way.”
