People urged to be vigilant after suspected attempted dog thefts

Police are investigating a suspected attempt to steal dogs from a village near Brampton.

No dogs were stolen in the incident, which happened at about 4pm on Thursday outside a property at Walton.

Officers believe this was due to security measures in place and the vigilance of the owners.

There have been a number of suspicious incidents in north Cumbria in recent weeks where police suspect kennels may have been targeted.

No dogs have been stolen.

People are asked to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police.
