A £150,000 scheme to resurface part of the A592 in Windermere will start next month.

Cumbria County Council workers will begin on the scheme, between Cooks House Corner and Holehird, on February 15.

A 1km section of worn-out road will be replaced with a new surface.

The work is due to be completed on Friday  February 19, subject to favourable weather.

Resurfacing will be carried out at night-time to minimise disruption to local residents and road users.

This section of the A592 will be closed from 6.30pm each night during this period.

The road will be open as normal during daytime.

Advance warning signs will be in place next week and local residents in the area will be informed of the work.

Road users including businesses are asked to plan any journeys in advance and avoid the area if at all possible though the adjacent local road network will be open to through traffic.
