Police hunt thieves that targeted Mitchells Auction in Cockermouth

Police are investigating

Thieves raided a vehicle at a Cumbrian business and took cash from inside.

Police are probing the incident of theft from a vehicle at Mitchells Auction Ltd, in Cockermouth, on February 17.

Two men gained access to an insecure vehicle and stole a wallet, containing cash, from the inside.

One of the suspects is described as a white man, aged about 30-years-old and was wearing dark clothing, a black baseball cap and a facemask.

The second suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 40s and of a large build. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket, a black baseball cap and a white face mask.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw these men or if they have any connected information, CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.

Anyone with information should contact 101 and ask to speak to PC 2755 Parker, quoting incident number 94 of February 17.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
