Work is due to start today in Kendal as part of the town’s £76 million flood management scheme.
The Environment Agency and contractors Volker Stevin will begin work today in Romney Gardens, Kendal as part of the three phased, £76 million Flood Risk Management Scheme.
Vegetation has been removed from the site ahead of the work and local residents have been informed directly of any disruption and closure of footpaths.
Stewart Mounsey, flood risk manager for Cumbria said: “Work will begin in Romney Gardens in Kendal on today as part of the three phased £76 million flood risk management scheme, with construction taking four months to complete.
“We have spoken to the local community about these works and will continue to keep them informed of progress and any footpath or road closures.”
