Popstar Olly Murs has confirmed that his summer date in Carlisle will take place this year.
The concert, which is currently scheduled for July 23, forms part of a summer tour, taking in a number of dates across the UK.
Following the Government road map announced at the beginning of March, organisers have been working behind the scenes to confirm the exact date of the concert, which is subject to a provisional date change due to a number of logistical considerations.
Any change to the date will be communicated to fans in the coming weeks, once final decisions have been made, a spokesman for event promoters Liz Hobbs Group said.
Previously bought tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates.
This will be the second outdoor concert to take place in Carlisle this year, following confirmation that the Tom Jones concert due to take place in 2020 will be rescheduled for the same weekend.
A final decision on the date for the Tom Jones concert will also be made in the coming weeks with both events taking place over the same weekend.
Olly said: “I’m just so happy I still get to go on tour across the UK this summer after the year we’ve had.
“We’ve worked hard to put on as many shows as we can this year and next, and I can’t wait to get back out and bring some positivity and fun on stage to my fans. The thought of performing with my band, working with my crew, and seeing my fans are getting me through lockdown, so roll on the summer.”
Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of Grandslam Live and LHG Events, promoter of the two concerts said: “We are delighted that Olly and Tom will be performing in Carlisle this summer. It has been such a tough year for everyone with no live events being able to take place.
“We know it will be one epic party weekend in Bitts Park. We’re working hard with Olly and Tom’s team to confirm the date of his concert and will be in touch with ticket holders via their ticket agent to confirm any changes to the original date.”
