Youngsters and their families are urged to take part in a countywide musical project to raise their spirits and look to the future.
Cumbria Music Hub, a partnership designed to deliver the best music education across Cumbria, wants people to submit music videos which will become part of the Big Sing Trilogy.
The hub aims to address and assist mental health issues for children using their Big Sing Trilogy to get kids talking.
Designed to address resilience and wellbeing, it launched its first music video recently.
The song, It’s OK, (Please Just Say), features children from across the county, who filmed their lockdown life and sang along to the meaningful lyrics.
The second part of the trilogy has just been launched.
Wish from Sing Up, with lyrics by Bex Mathers and Simon Derbyshire, focuses on the aspirations of children, families and teachers looking ahead to next term and the summer, as well as formulating their hopes and dreams once lockdown is over.
The music hub is looking for children and families to get involved by making their own music videos and submitting them to be part of the final film.
There are many ways to take part, such as singing, playing instrumental parts, adding percussion (body percussion), and even creating and singing a rap to this piece.
People can also submit photos of class music and posters of wishes from staff, families and children which will be shared as part of the hub’s social media pages as part of the Big Sing Trilogy project.
Submissions need to be in by April 30.
