Plans have been been drawn up for 38 new homes to be built in Flimby.
Cumbria Metals Ltd has submitted outline plans to Allerdale Borough Council for consideration, for the construction of the estate on land next to the Cumbria Metals site at the Risehow Industrial Estate in Flimby.
It is proposed that a total of 38 homes are built on the site of the former Risehow Colliery, off the A596.
The former colliery buildings which occupied the site and which were latterly used for small workshops were demolished in early 2019 and the site cleared.
As an application for outline planning permission, if approved, further, more detailed plans would need to be submitted and approved before construction could begin.
A mixture of two, three and four bedroom homes of a “variety of sizes” are proposed.
“The general form of development proposed is a single spine road with cul de sacs,” the submitted planning documents said.
