Properties have been evacuated and firefighters are on the scene of a blaze at a Carlisle curry house.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at the Stanwix Tandoori restaurant on Scotland Road just after 3.30am today.
Scotland Road is closed in both directions between the junctions of Etterby Street and Brampton Road.
Drivers and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
