Residents and businesses in Carlisle are being invited to have their say on an updated taxi policy for the city.
Carlisle City Council is asking local residents and businesses for their opinions as part of a consultation exercise involving other authorities such as the police and existing licence holders.
A copy of the city council’s draft Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy (2021-2026) is available on the Carlisle City Council website at www.carlisle.gov.uk/consultations
The consultation period runs until July 12 at midnight.
Carlisle City Council spokeswoman said: “We take our responsibility as the licensing authority in Carlisle very seriously. It is extremely important we have the best possible taxi policy in place.
“Please take this opportunity to have your say on the changes that are being proposed as they can potentially affect everyone that operates, or uses, Carlisle licensed vehicles.”
To receive a hard copy of the consultation, email [email protected] or send a request in writing to the licensing team at the Civic Centre.
All changes to the existing policy are highlighted within the policy document. All comments and suggestions will be included in a report that will go before the council’s Regulatory Panel in August 2021.
