A new mayor and deputy mayor have been sworn in for Carlisle.
Carlisle City Councillor Pam Birks will serve as mayor for 2021-2022 having served as deputy mayor for the last two years. She replaces Marilyn Bowman.
Sworn in at today’s annual council meeting in the Civic Centre’s council chamber, she recited the ancient mayoral oath giving her allegiance to the city and its citizens.
Councillor Mike Mitchelson was sworn in as the deputy mayor.
