Cumbria’s latest band are gearing up for a summer of gigs to remember and their first takes place later this month in Cockermouth.
The four-piece Little Lies – Robert Lambert (bass), Stephen Jackson (drums), Jack McAlpine (guitar) and Zoe Warren (lead singer) – will play a selection of original alternative rock-pop material and originals at the Kirkgate Centre on Saturday, June 26.
Zoe said: “We are really looking forward to playing Kirkgate Theatre, obviously for me it will be incredibly special place to play, having worked here in the past but there is also a bit of a buzz for us all because this will be the perfect way to spend our first gig after the restrictions – hopefully – ease.
“Being back on the stage is where we belong, and we can’t wait to share this new adventure. We are recording a new album for release this later this year, and this is such an exciting opportunity to play some original music.”
Bassist Rob has experience in all genres of music, having worked as a session musician for many years. Robert has performed at the O2 Arena in London for the Country 2 Country festival twice, as well as other festivals and radio performances.
Stephen has been performing in bands from a young age; performing as a part of the staff band from the age of 14 at secondary school and across the north with AWOL for over 18
years.
He is also a member of Heartbreak Remedy, with whom he has toured throughout the UK alongside international artists.
Stephen tours regularly across Europe as the drummer for ex-WASP guitarist Chris Holmes, appearing in his recently released documentary Mean Man.
New to the band is 18-year-old Jack, who has just finished his A-levels. Having played guitar for a number of years under the tutelage of Dean Newton, he said he was excited to start playing with the band.
Zoe has been writing songs since she was a teenager. Two of Zoe’s singles have had success in the iTunes Charts.
Charting at number three in the country charts was Zoe’s single Hurricane in 2017 and in 2019, Greedy sat alongside the likes of Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran at number 18 in the Singer-Songwriter iTunes Charts.
The show will start at 8pm.
