Two people were extricated from a car after a crash in Ulverston.
Crews were called to the A590 south of Newby Bridge shortly after 3pm on Saturday. The road was closed for several hours as emergency services dealt with the collision.
The incident saw the road closed between Newby Bridge and Greenodd, police said.
It was reported that an air ambulance was also in attendance.
Two fire engines were called to the scene and crews stabilised the vehicle and made the scene safe.
Two casualties were extricated from the vehicle and passed to the care of paramedics.
