Work to install a new pedestrian crossing on Church Road in Harrington has been completed.
The new pedestrian crossing was included in the planning approval for the nearby Bellaport Gardens housing development.
The new crossing is intended to help with pedestrian access to and from the nearby Beckstone Primary School, as well as other nearby local amenities including shops, pharmacy, and nursery.
The design of the new crossing is also intended to reduce traffic speeds along Church Road and improve general road safety within Harrington.
Councillor Marjorie Rae, local member for Harrington and Salterbeck, said: “I am pleased to see that work to install the new crossing have been completed – this will really improve access for local residents, particularly parents and children attending the nearby primary school.
“The new crossing will also help to enhance road safety in the local area by helping to reduce traffic speed through the village.”
