Whitehaven RLFC has announced the signing of former Toulouse five-eighth Louis Jouffret.
Louis is no stranger to the LEL Arena having played for the club in the 2015 and 2016 seasons, making a try-scoring debut against neighbours Workington Town at the Summer Bash.
Louis said: “I am looking forward to getting back to Whitehaven and trying to help the club for the rest of this season. I can’t wait to play up there again and see my mates. I enjoyed my time there a few years ago and I hope it will be the same again.”
During his previous spell with the club, Louis amassed a total of 35 appearances, scoring seven tries and 81 goals.
After leaving Haven, Louis has gone on to star in the Championship for Toulouse, Batley and Featherstone.
Head coach Gary Charlton said: “I am delighted that the club has been able to secure Louis’s services.
“Louis is well experienced in the Championship and our fans already know the attacking flair he brings.
“He can cover us in the halves and the fullback position, so with losing Gregg to injury, we felt we had to move to bring someone in and Louis fits the bill of the type of player we were looking for.
“He will come over fit, having been playing in the French competition this season.”
The squad is still suffering from a large list of players unavailable due to injury, including Marc Shackley (one-two weeks), Tom Walker (six-eight weeks), Dion Aiye (one-two weeks), Callum Phillips (unknown) and Andy Thornley (eight-10 weeks).
