A Carlisle man has been charged with assaulting eight police officers.
Callum Charles David Kerr is accused of assaulting seven police officers and one police sergeant on July 4 in Carlisle.
Kerr, of Orton Road, appeared from police custody at Carlisle’s magistrates’ court on Monday.
The 25-year-old was also accused of escaping from lawful custody during the incident.
No plea was indicated to the alleged offences.
Magistrates remanded Kerr in custody ahead of an appearance at Carlisle Crown Court for a pre-trial preliminary hearing on August 8.
