Rosehill Theatre has cancelled an upcoming show with comedian Andrew Lawrence after a racist tweet posted following England’s Euro 2020 Final loss against Italy.
Andrew Lawrence was due to appear at the Whitehaven theatre on December 3, performing his Andrew Lawrence: Male, Pale & Stale show.
He tweeted “All I’m saying is, the white guys scored” after Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho missed their penalties on Sunday night.
The game finished 1-1 after extra time, after Luke Shaw’s opener in the second minute was cancelled out by a Leonardo Bonucci tap-in in the 67th minute.
Lawrence’s tweet sparked outrage on social media.
Andrew lawrence is a right-wing former comedian who opposes political correctness in the name of free speech.

It took him less than 5 minutes to block me for saying this.
They don’t want open dialogue. They just want to say racist stuff without consequences. #SayNoToRacism pic.twitter.com/AmlaWVFXgf
It led to many calling for his upcoming shows – including the one at Rosehill Theatre – to be cancelled.
A statement from the theatre said: “Our trustees and staff agree with concerns over tweets by @andrewlawrence following the Euro 2020 final. We do not share his views and comments.
“We promote equality, diversity and inclusion. We have no room for racism. His scheduled visit to Rosehill is no longer on sale.”
