Workington Reds face a good test at Borough Park tonight against a Morecambe side preparing to play in League One for the first time.
But since their play-off success manager Derek Adams moved to manage Bradford City and Steve Robinson was brought in as replacement.
He has had the task of creating a new squad and has already made five signings ahead of their opening League One game at Ipswich on August 7.
Reds acting boss Steven Rudd said: “We are really looking forward to the challenge with the chance to go up against a promoted EFL side.
“It’s the first of a series of really good home games for us as we prepare for the first game on August 14.”
Scott Allison, Dav Symington and Robbie Hebson, who weren’t available for Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Berwick Rangers, return to the squad.
Liam Lightfoot, released by Carlisle United at the end of last season, will be involved and Rudd says he hopes to have two other trialists in the squad.
