Divers are searching the River Eden in Carlisle following a report that a teenage boy has got into trouble in the water.
Emergency services are currently at the scene at Rickerby Park, near Stony Holme.
Police received a report of concern for the welfare of the boy at around 9pm yesterday by North West Ambulance Service.
It was reported he had gone into the river.
The North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and the Coastguard have also been deployed in the operation.
Cumbria police is asking the public to avoid the area to allow police and partners conduct searches.
