Workington Reds completed their pre-season build up with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Morpeth Town.
They dominated almost from the first kick as they scored a remarkable opener inside 11 seconds.
Brad Hubbold played the kick-off from the centre spot straight back to goalkeeper Jim Atkinson who, from just outside his area, launched a huge kick down field.
It took one bounce and although the trialist got a hand to it as the ball went over his head, it flew into the net.
Atkinson was later to establish a unique Workington record as the only keeper to score a goal and save a penalty in the same game.
Reds doubled their lead on ten minutes when new signing Nico Evangelinos marked his debut with a shot from just outside the area which squeezed through the grasp of the young keeper, through his legs and into the net.
The third came on 28 minutes when Dav Symington cruised through from just over the halfway line, rounded the last defender and then scored with a crisp shot across the keeper into the bottom corner.
A Conor Tinnion special opened the scoring in the second-half when he curled a fine angled shot from the edge of the area around the stranded keeper after 56 minutes.
There was a chance for Morpeth to reduce the arrears on76 minutes from the penalty spot, harshly awarded against Jordan Little.
But justice was done when Atkinson went full length to turn away Jack Foalieās effort.
Reds added to their tally with two goals in the last ten minutes of the game.
On 81 minutes along ball from Symington was brilliantly cushioned on his stretched foot by Brad Hubbold, who then proceeded tos end the last defender the wrong way before curling his shot beyond the keeper.
The right at the death clever inter-play between Symington and Brad Carroll ended with a low cross which was turned in from close range by Tinnion.
Two training sessions now follow and then it starts for real next Saturday with the opening NPL game at Kidsgrove Athletic.
