A Cumbrian duo have been overwhelmed with the success of their podcast that they will return for a second series in the autumn.
Vincent Walden and Katie Lock met at the University of Cumbria in 2013 and since graduating have worked on several projects together.
Although they shared a love of podcasts, it was a medium neither of them had worked in before and wanted to tackle it.
They both live in Carlisle and from Vincent’s studio in the city’s Atlas Works, they recorded 10 episodes of A Space for Oddities, discussing topics as diverse as the comic sans font and folklore symbols.
Named in tribute to David Bowie’s Space Oddity – he’s a favourite artist for both of them – the podcast has created a fanbase.
Vincent said: “We’ve had so much fun recording topics that we’re interested in and having a laugh along the way.”
Katie added: “There has been such great feedback so far, we’re positive our future plans won’t disappoint.”
As they plan for the second season, they aren’t content with just continuing as normal— learning how to compose their own music for each episode alongside searching for a local business to sponsor their upcoming productions.
Season two will begin in October.
A Space for Oddities is available on Spotify, Anchor and many other major podcasting networks.
