One of Cumbria’s leading care providers has launched a pottery range with a difference.
Handmade by adults with learning disabilities, every sale from the exclusive ceramic range goes back to support West House Pottery, the not-for-profit enterprise run by West House.
The pottery provides children, young people and adults with learning difficulties to build their creative skills and knowledge, grow in confidence and lead an independent, fulfilling life.
Created with the support of a local ceramicist, the new range features tableware and general homeware.
A West House spokesman said: “Every single item in the collection is hand made by the West House Potters, who are each given their own stamp complete with their initials to mark the bottom of the items they make, adding an extra special touch to each piece.
“This process has given the West House Potters the unique opportunity to have
been part of creating a whole line of ceramics from conception to the final product.”
Items in the West House Pottery range cost between £6 and 20 and are available to purchase through the West House Pottery Etsy page.
