Kidsgrove Athletic have signed goalkeeper Ryan Brown, but he won’t feature against Workington.
Reds open the season there tomorrow and until yesterday Kidsgrove had made only one close season signing.
Ryan joins his brother Kieran Brown at the Northern Premier League West club but it has since been confirmed he will stay at Eccleshall on loan.
He made his debut on Saturday and saved a penalty in the 2-0 North West Counties win over Stockport Town.
Manager Scott Dundas said: “He’s done well (during pre-season). He’s come here and been here for every training session, and only missed a couple of games, but he’s done well pushing Kieran Harrison all the way.
“He has got a good height on him and great physique. He’s still got a lot to learn but he is only young.
“However, he’s got a great strike on him and he’s done us well during pre-season.
“We are looking for him to gain valuable experience at a good non-league level, the North West Counties.”
