
Two mountain rescue teams were called to assist a 16-year-old walker who injured her knee.
Keswick and Penrith Mountain Rescue Teams were alerted to the incident on Bannerdale Crags in Mungrisdale shortly after 3pm on Sunday.
A 16-year-old female walker had injured her knee descending from Bannerdale Crags towards Mungrisdale while walking with her family and was unable to continue.
Once on-site, the team assessed the casualty and splinted her leg to reduce movement.
Team members were then able to carry the casualty off the fell by stretcher. The teenager was then taken to hospital by her family for further treatment.
Sixteen Keswick and two Penrith team members were involved in the rescue which lasted almost three hours.
