The co-founder of Green and Black’s Chocolate will be the guest speaker at an innovation showcase being held in Cumbria.

Jo Fairley is now much in demand as an inspirational speaker after becoming the UK’s youngest-ever magazine editor and then co-founding the hugely popular Green & Black’s brand, becoming one of the UK’s leading female entrepreneurs.

She will be the keynote speaker at the Innovation Showcase being held at Energus on September 29 when she will talk about the importance of innovation and branding and also how to cope with change in business.

The free event will also include an exhibition featuring some of Cumbria’s most innovative businesses and organisations who are being given space at Energus to showcase their work.

It will also give Cumbrian businesses a chance to meet up again and network following the easing of Covid restrictions.

Faye Brown, Energus business development and marketing lead, is delighted to have secured the services of Jo Fairley to speak at the Innovation Showcase.

“Jo is a highly-acclaimed motivational speaker and I am really looking forward to hearing the story behind Green & Black’s and her business insights.

“She has spoken to companies and universities all over the world so we are really pleased she is coming to West Cumbria to be part of this event,” she said.

“The event will also include plenty of time for networking which I am sure will be appreciated by all those business people who have been deprived of the chance to meet up and share ideas face to face for over 12 months,” she added.

Energus will be making use of its new hi-tech equipment at the event and also offering a demo to the audience showcasing how hybrid events can now be held at the training and conference centre in Lillyhall.

A £200,000 investment in state-of-the-art equipment means people can now attend events physically or log on virtually, with the option of watching the audience or the presenter, as well as zooming in and viewing events from multiple different camera angles.

The Innovation Showcase takes place on September 29 between 9.30am and 1.30pm. It will start the day with a networking session in our atrium and end with a networking lunch which will run from 12pm-1.30pm. All businesses, local and national, across the supply chain, are invited to attend this event.
