A son who breached a restraining order by threatening his disabled mother, having previously stamped on her head during a shocking assault in her own home, has been jailed again.
Louis Pattinson, 25, had smashed his way into his mum’s house at Storth in South Cumbria last August.
Pattinson ran into a bedroom where his mother was waiting having called police.
After an initial punch, he struck her repeatedly about the head and body, grabbing her hair and stamping on her head having also soaked her with water from a bottle.
Pattinson was handed a 20-month jail term after he admitted criminal damage and actual bodily harm assault.
He was also given a restraining order which banned him from contacting his mum for two years.
She later sent small sums of money to him, and gave him cash to attend a funeral.
But Carlisle Crown Court heard today that when he demanded even more, during July, she refused.
“When she said no, she began threatening her, saying he would get a train to her address and attack her again,” said prosecutor Brendan Burke.
The court was told Pattinson had turned to alcohol following the death of his best friend, and was sorry to both his mother and the court.
Judge Paul Lawton QC noted Pattinson, of Paddock Way, Milnthorpe, had since been recalled to custody on licence.
He admitted breaching the restraining order and was given an additional four-month jail term — to start immediately — by the judge, who concluded the defendant had viewed his mother as an “easy touch”.
