A major retail outlet has begun a new era – with a new name and brand – following a multi-million-pound revamp.
Today sees Gretna Gateway Outlet Village renamed as Caledonia Park.
Scott Wells, centre manager, said: “We’ve chosen Caledonia Park for several reasons. Caledonia is an ancient name for the area that includes modern Scotland, conjuring up the beauty and romance of our home.
“Caledonia Park nods to the natural splendour of the local area, and to our open-air shopping experience and together with the Star of Caledonia, we can make the area even more attractive to tourists and visitors – a must-see stopping point that supports the local economy.
“After investing heavily in our refurbishment, it’s only right that we give ourselves a brand to be proud of – a brand that’s right for our retailers, our customers, and our community in 2022 and beyond.”
London-based RPMI Railpen, which owns the retail centre, unveiled the plans in 2019, which include a modernisation of the village with timber façade treatments added to the units, canopies and enhancing the public realm.
