
Police are investigating after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision involving a car in Cockermouth.
Officers were called at about 9.40pm yesterday to the intersection of St Helen’s Street and Waste Lane.
Fire and ambulance crews were also in attendance.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
The pedestrian was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for treatment.
He is described as in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
Police are keen to locate anyone who may have come across a man in this area around this time, who may have appeared unwell.
