A leading Cumbrian homebuilder has created 26 new job opportunities.
Penrith-based Genesis Homes, founded in 2017, is on course to reach its target of building 200 homes a year during 2022 and to help it achieve its goal it is creating the jobs, which also includes apprenticeships.
The apprenticeships in bricklaying and joinery are available at developments in Carlisle, Kendal, Penrith and Workington.
Genesis Homes managing director Nicky Gordon said: “We want to continue to grow and invest in our communities, and we are delighted to be in a position to be able to provide career opportunities for people living in the local area.
“As a high growth business, we need excellent and well-trained colleagues to help us achieve our goal, and we’re well aware that there is so much talent across Cumbria.
“As a company, Genesis Homes is particularly passionate about creating employment opportunities for young people and we are committed to investing – both in terms of finances and time – into starting them on their journeys to a long career within the industry.
“By providing training opportunities, we can ensure the future of the industry is secured for years to come and that the next generation of construction workers are the best they possibly can be.”
Genesis Homes is in the process of finalising a partnership with Lakes College, Lillyhall, to deliver its training programme from its facilities in West Cumbria.
