New Kendal Town manager Warren Beattie has landed his sixth signing within a week of taking the job at Parkside Road.
Ahead of the crucial NLP West relegation battle with Market Drayton tomorrow, Beattie has signed Barnoldswick midfielder Sam Braithwaite.
Beattie was assistant manager at Barnoldswick for 12 months before accepting the job at Kendal and knows Braithwaite well.
“He’s a box-to-box midfielder who is very competitive and is going to lift our team. He played at Fulwood for years and is very well respected,” said Beattie.
Shortly after taking on the job, Beattie signed five players, three of whom were in the side for Tuesday’s game with leaders Marine when they went down 2-0 at Parkside Road.
Joining the Mintcakes were Will Higham and Ryan Salmon, who both started, and Gary Basterfield who came on as a second-half substitute. Alex Randell was also added to the squad but not included while the signing of Stuart Vasey was announced after the game.
“I am looking at bringing in another lad on loan from Fylde and it’s all about making us more competitive at this level. Naturally, the target is to stay in this league,” said Beattie.
