Barrow Raiders have announced a second pre-season friendly ahead of their return to the Championship at the end of January.
A week before the new season gets underway Paul Crarey’s side will host North Wales Crusaders on Sunday, January 23, with a 3pm kick-off.
The League One side, coached by former Barrow player and coach Andrew Murray, were one of the game’s most improved sides last season.
Barrow will play their first warm-up game on Sunday, January 16 against Newcastle Thunder who moved up to the Championship twelve months ago.
The Raiders will host their North East rivals and will also entertain them on February 13 in the Championship fixture.
Barrow are now two weeks into pre-season training and the whole squad is working hard, looking strong and fit.
The club has also announced a slight change in the fixture list with the Championship game at Newcastle brought forward by a day to Saturday, August 27 at 3pm.
Meanwhile Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven and Workington Town have not announced any definite pre-season warm-up games.
The two will be playing the traditional curtain-raiser to the season, the Ike Southward Memorial Trophy game, with Town taking their turn to stage. January 16 has been mentioned but has not been confirmed.
