The family who runs The Yan at Grasmere is celebrating after the bistro with beds won a place in the inaugural Top 50 Boutique Hotels list.
The Top 50 Boutique Hotels Awards took place in York last week and were voted for and chosen by more than 100 expert judges from across the country.
The awards recognise the best boutique hotels in UK, helping people discover these unique and diverse places to stay and The Yan, which only opened in 2019, gained a place within the prestigious list.
The Yan is owned by Dave and Sally Keighley and run by their daughter and son-in-law Jess and Will Manley .
Jess said: “It’s been a really hard year – for hospitality as a whole – and so to attend the awards in York last week was a much-needed tonic. To win a place in the Top 50 Boutique Hotels in all of the UK is incredibly heartening and we hope stands us in good stead as we head into 2022.
“We only opened two years ago, and we’ve had COVID to navigate during that time, we are yet to get a full year’s trading under our belt, so this recognition feels like an enormous achievement and means an awful lot to us because we run The Yan ourselves and put our heart and soul into every single bit of it.”
The Yan sits proudly alongside The Newt in Somerset, The Pig at Bridge Place and Watergate Bay in Cornwall in the list.
Applegarth Villa, The Cottage in the Wood and Rothay Manor in the Lake District were also recognised.
