Police are probing a four-vehicle crash on the A69.
It happened at about 9.10am on Sunday near Miltonrigg Wood, Brampton.
The driver of a van and passengers of a car suffered injuries. None were life-threatening but they were taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
Police would also be interested in speaking to anyone who saw any vehicles driving in a way that caused concern in that area, between 9am and 9.10am.
