Festive performances at Blackwell

Sticky toffee pudding at Windermere Jetty Museum Lakeshore Café

A series of festive performances will take place at Blackwell – the Arts & Crafts House this month.

The house, near Bowness on Windermere, will host the mini-performances of seasonal music and carols in the main hall.

On Friday December 10 at 2pm and 2.45pm delight in the harmonies of Staveley Choral Society and on Tuesday December 14 at noon, Kendal Concert Band will perform.

On Friday December 17 at 2pm there will be a piano recital of festive tunes performed by Ruth Haigh and on Christmas Eve at 2pm, Caroline Robinson on the piano will set the mood.

The tea room is open and serving mince pies and mulled wine.

As part of the visit. people can see the current art exhibition Class, Covid & Cumbria which runs until February 27.

The festive events are included as part of the standard admission price to the house which is £9 with concessions available.

Meanwhile, Windermere Jetty Museum has launched its festive lunch menu this week.

There is a two-course lunch option of turkey and cranberry festive pie topped with sage and chestnut crumble with pigs in blankets and sticky toffee pudding.

Booking is not required.
