A balloon release in memory of Natalie and Harry Kane will be held in Whitehaven.
The event tomorrow, Sunday January 9, has been organised by a friend of the 27-year-old, who was found dead with one-year-old Harry in the town on December 30.
Nadene Murray, 32, met Natalie through the charity Women Out West and she said the pair became close.
She has asked people to gather at Castle Park in Whitehaven at 2pm.
Nadene said: “I’ve chosen Castle Park as it was Natalie’s favourite place to go. She would always take videos of herself and Harry playing on the swings and teaching him to walk.
“We’ll also be tying some Hey Duggee balloons around the park for other children to take.”
Ruth McDonald, also a friend of Natalie’s, has organised sweets to be attached to the balloons.
Nadene met Natalie last year when she moved near Nadene’s mother.
Nadene added: “We started talking and found out we both had something in common with Women Out West.
“We hit it off really well we went for coffee together and whenever I came up as I now live in Egremont she would come down and we’d sit and talk for hours me and my family became really close to them both.
“I’d buy Harry little Peter Rabbit outfits as she loved him in them.
“She was the best mother and managed to look after Harry so well.
“We are all going to miss them both so much.”
Natalie, 27, and Harry were found at Wellington Row, Whitehaven. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed.
A fund was set up by friends to give the pair the ‘best send-off possible’. It has now raised £7,280 and any cash left over will be donated to Women Out West.
Last night, friends came together to celebrate the lives of Natalie and Harry in Maryport.
Natalie was a former pupil of Netherhall School in the town.
Her brother, Shane Evitts, 31, of Maryport, spoke to the crowd and thanked everyone for their support.
A statement from the group said: “All of us at Women Out West are absolutely heartbroken that our valued member Natalie and her beautiful son have died.
“Natalie was a wonderful mum and has been involved with WOW since the very beginning. Natalie volunteered her time to help clear out the unit where WOW stands today.
“Our thoughts are with Natalie’s friends and family and her Key worker, Nadine who worked closely with Natalie and Harry over the last year.
“Natalie touched the hearts of so many people. I will always remember her beaming smile and her wicked sense of humour.
“Most of all we will remember the love she had for Harry and how proud she was of him.
“We stand together with the loved ones of Natalie an d Harry and will do all we can to support them.
“We are also working with all other agencies and organisations as we come to terms with this terrible tragedy.”
