More than £6,000 has been raised to give the ‘best send-off possible’ for a woman and her one-year-old baby found dead in Whitehaven.

Natalie Kane, 27, and one-year-old Harry Kane, were found dead at a property in Whitehaven on December 30.

Police attended an address in Wellington Row at about 2.50pm that day after concerns were raised about the welfare of Natalie.

Officers said there were no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed.

A Gofundme page was set up yesterday by Natalie’s friends Ashton Graham and Stacey Hackett on behalf of Natalie’s brother Shane Evitts, of Maryport, to give Natalie and Harry the best send-off possible.

It has now raised £6,075. Its target is £7,000.

A message from Shane on the page said: “I would just like to say a massive thanks to all who has supported and a donated. It’s overwhelming what we have received and me, family and friends appreciate it. Natalie and Harry will have the best send-off they deserve.”

On Friday, an event has ben organised for people to remember Natalie, a former Netherhall School pupil, and Harry at Maryport Prom.

People are asked to bring pink and blue balloons and a Budweiser – Natalie’s favourite drink.

People plan to meet at 7pm.
