A man has been banned from an area of Whitehaven following anti-social behaviour.
Simon Gilmour, also known as Simon Franklin, 45, has been served a 12-month injunction by Workington Magistrates Court, banning him from an address on Brayton Road, Bransty and entering the Bransty estate.
Police and social landlord Home Group said they have been working for the last few months to stop anti-social behaviour and associated criminality.
Copeland police said: “We have been granted an injunction to protect residents of the estate from anti-social behaviour and associated criminality.
“We have jointly worked with Home Group to try and access support for customers who may need it in relation to tenancies and other issues which are not a police matter.
“We are continuing to gather evidence in relation to assisting Home Group when they serve problem tenants with notices of seeking possession with a view to evicting those who cause problems or allow their premises to be used in a manner causing nuisance or annoyance to other residents.
“We alongside other partner agencies are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour within the estate. Without the evidence provided by customers and residents we would not have been able to act and achieve some of the effective outcomes above.”
The injunction carries a power of arrest. People are urged to contact police if they believe Gilmour, originally from Workington, has breached it.
