The team at Ginger Bakers have been shortlisted in the Baked Goods Entrepreneur of the Year category in the second edition of the Food and Drink Heroes Awards 2022.
The shortlisted finalists in the Baked Goods Entrepreneur category alongside Lisa Smith, of Cumbria’s Ginger Bakers, include Alice Williams, Luminary Bakery, Rachel Hanretty, Mademoiselle Macaron, Paul Clark & Laura Clark, Phat Pasty Co, Max Poynton, Jacob Watts & Matthew Bond, Project D, Andy Welch, Seriously Low Carb by Keeto Life, Paul Rostand, The Artful Baker and Meenesh Mistry & Parul Mistry, Wholey Moley.
The awards, thought up by the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, saw 700 entries arrive this year.
From those, the shortlist was drawn up and now the esteemed panel of judges have begun to individually assess each entry against 10 criteria to decide who the overall winners in each category will be.
The Ginger Bakers team will now have to wait to find out if they will be crowned category winners and where and when the glitzy awards celebration event will be held – with all being revealed in the coming weeks.
Lisa Smith, owner of Ginger Bakers, said: “Food and drink entrepreneurs play a significant role in the UK’s economy, and there’s no doubt that they are among the most innovative and dynamic in the world, which I’m proud to be a part of.
“Awards like this help to raise awareness of what we as an industry do, and hopefully inspire future talent to take the plunge and follow their business ideas to fruition just as I did.’’
