A well-known Kendal business has been bought by new owners.

The Gibsons of Kendal Land Rover servicing and parts business has been bought by another family-run business with roots in the county.

The Gibsons family have sold on their property and Land Rover business at Mintsfeet Road South Kendal to The Venturian Group, who have taken over the business but will continue to use the Gibsons of Kendal name given its reputation and ties to the area.

The Venturian Group runs a number of similar businesses across the North of England and was attracted to Gibsons of Kendal because of its good name and reputation.

“We are really thrilled to have acquired this cracking business,” said Greg Allsopp, one of the new owners.

“The Gibsons family and the garage are so well-known and respected in the area, we wanted to ensure both the name and business continued and grew. We can already see there is a large and loyal customer base and we are looking forward to developing that further.”

As well as a new website and branding being launched shortly, there are plans afoot to significantly increase the garage’s capacity with the aim of creating new jobs and opportunities too.

“We want to develop the service and repair side of the business, but also the parts supply side as Alan and Paul that work here have such a detailed knowledge and experience to pass on to customers locally and further afield,” added Mr Allsopp.

The Land Rover business will continue to operate as normal from its Mintsfeet Road South, Kendal location.

The transition from the Gibson family to the new owners has been smooth and Mr Allsopp confirms it is very much business as usual.
