A businessman says he has been overwhelmed by the generosity of people who have donated items to be taken to Ukraine.

Krystian Klicki, 47, runs Polish Shop Dino in Maryport, Carlisle and Dumfries, and these shops will accept donations for people fleeing from the Russian invasion of the country.

The business has joined forces with transport firm Trans-Voyager Borowscy.

And Lakes Home Centre in Cockermouth has agreed to be a drop-off point for goods for Krystian so people can donate locally.

A message on Polish Shop Dino’s Facebook page says: “Thank you very much for all the donations. You guys are amazing!”

The shops are still accepting donations of:

  • First aid kits
  • Baby milk
  • Baby bottles
  • Toiletries
  • Bandages
  • Nappies
  • Wet wipes
  • Torches and headlamps

But Krystian said they do not need any more clothes.
