Morecambe Bay

People are urged to join a landscape charity for an adventure across the shifting sands as the Morecambe Bay Walk returns.

Take part in a walk like no other, wade up to your knees in tidal rivers, navigate the quick-sands and explore the treacherous yet beautiful Morecambe Bay.

Join Friends of the Lake District for on Saturday May 7 at 10am for the walk, led by the Queen’s Official Guide to the Sands, Michael Wilson.

The walk is around eight miles long and suitable for anyone who is comfortable walking for three to four hours.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and well behaved dogs are welcome.

The majority of the walk will be on sand but there will be times where you will need to wade through some channels so be prepared to get wet up to your knees.

Registration costs £15 per adult or £10 per child.

For more information or to register please visit www.friendsofthelakedistrict.org.uk/mbw2022 .
