Singer and mental health campaigner Will Young was in Silloth over the weekend and popped into a popular town fish and chip shop.
The star, who became famous after winning Pop Idol, was in the town for the bank holiday.
Dan Ware, who works at the Silloth Cafe on Station Road, posted a picture on Facebook and said: “When Will Young comes to your work you’ve got to get a selfie.”
He said: “He was a really nice down to earth genuine guy who liked to interact with people. He said he was just on a quick break and he ordered five fish and chips for himself and the people he was with. He was really nice and very chatty and wanted to know a lot about the town and how was it living here.”
Young has recently published a book about well-being and Channel 4 is set to screen a documentary about his twin brother Rupert, who took his own life aged 41.
Will Young: Losing My Twin Rupert sees the singer set out to understand the impact of alcoholism on families while he deals with his grief.
